GRACE CAN STAND ALONE

I have just realised a mistake we have made trying to balance grace with truth. We have presented it in a way that if grace stands alone, then chaos will follow. Ladies and gentlemen if grace is the person of Jesus would He be too risky to be projected alone without a caveat emptor phrase.

Some people understand grace only as the forgiveness of sins, which is an elementary result of grace. Grace in the new covenant states that God would write in our heart the law of God which is not the 10 commandments. Under grace the Holy Spirit administers over our hearts the beauty of Jesus that causes us to reflect the glory of the father. He works in us that which is well pleasing in His eyes . He affirms constantly our identity in Christ. The result: Godly conduct.

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you[d] what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” – Hebrews 13:20-21

“Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.” – Phil 2:12b-13 (Msg)

John 1:17 “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” Truth is already on the side of grace. We don’t need to employ it to balance grace. Jesus is the truth and is grace at the same time. Under the law you told not commit adultery but grace the Spirit teaches you how to love your wife.

This is why the Holy Spirit is called the spirit of truth and also called the spirit of grace (Zechariah 12:10)
“Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?” (Hebrews 10:29)

He leads you into all truth. The truth that liberates, one that does not place burdens on you. When you walk with the spirit of grace, you are walking with the spirit of truth. The law could not provide liberty, this liberty comes with grace.

You can’t balance truth and as well you can’t balance grace. They are both absolute on their own. God is not afraid that his sons would use grace as liberty for sin but he is more concerned about those who rejected it. The Jews rejected it because they considered themselves unworthy.

“Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.” – Acts 13:46

Your good works does not balance grace. Good works is not the root of God’s righteousness but the fruit of it. To suggest that people will keep sinning because of the gospel of grace is to insult God that He didnt think the idea well enough. So we have to help by producing in our lives Ismaels.

Paul declared how shall we who are dead to sin live any longer in it. In this new covenant, the believer must be rooted in his identity that HE IS DEAD TO SIN. When he recognises this truth which is work of grace, he will cease from labour and rest in this revelation. Then you will see him manifest the glory of the Son in him.

When grace rules our hearts, the truth will also reign. When they reign your addictions, your obsessions and shortcomings will not. Live free today in the grace and truth. The truth is that the Father is pleased with you because you are accepted in the Beloved.
