EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS
The new testament is full of glorious truths that it would take only the Holy Spirit to reveal in our Spirit our inheritance in Christ. As we search through the scriptures the unveiling of Jesus leads also the unveiling of his bride, the church.
One of major results the finished work of Jesus is the impartation of the righteousness of God towards man. Under the law man laboured to his best and no man was able to achieve righteousness in God’s class.
If you are ignorant of what God’s righteousness is, then you might go about to establish your own righteousness. No righteous act that you can do can ever be viewed by God as anything more than a filthy rag (Isaiah 64:6).
It is not just a righteousness that is temporal but one that is everlasting.
Daniel prophesied of the coming Messiah and provided details of what he would achieve.
“Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness…”
(Daniel 9:24)
Though this passage has been used to point towards a coming antichrist. It’s an error because it was pointing towards Jesus.
In the above scripture notice what he will achieve:
· – Finish the transgression.
· – to make an end of sins,
· – to make reconciliation for iniquity
· – to bring in everlasting righteousness
It’s straight forward because it was when Jesus was offered up as a sacrifice, he took away the sin of the world and God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself. In doing this Jesus offers righteousness to anyone who believes in Him. This righteousness is not temporal and ordinary. It is divine and everlasting.
Many believers who have heard the gospel and teachings on faith have come to the revelation of the new creation realities. Some confess that ““I am the righteousness of God in Christ.” They declare this for some days and afterwards they change to confess their sins. They feel they have sinned away their righteousness.
It’s time people understand that we have an everlasting righteousness in Jesus. It is everlasting because our redemption is also eternal.
“He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.” (Hebrews 9:12)
The question someone may ask is this “How can I still be righteous after I sinned?”
The real question is this “Did you become righteous by what you did or by what you believed?”
“Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:18,19)
Our righteousness is only possible because of one man’s obedience and not ours. We received by faith this free gift. We can’t sin it away.
Being conscious and rooted in this revelation is the key to victory in life. The assurance of your righteousness is a major key to effective prayers. It is also the foundation for courage that places us in His rest.
Scriptures encourage us to hold tight to our confession of faith
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (Hebrew 10:23)
Our confession of faith also includes the gift of everlasting righteousness. Jesus is the high priest over this confession. He will see to it that you walk in this truth. The Holy Spirit will confirm the profession of your faith and you will find yourself reigning over sin, sickness, lack and bad habits.

Awesome article but being rooted in a Baptist church it's hard for me to accept the contents of this well written thought provoking teaching……I want to make it my reality but it is hard…..
Grace and love to you, Bill. The reality of it does not depend on you accepting it. It already is as it is. Jesus did what He did and accomplished His work. It is done. It is finished. Your condemnation is over. Everlasting righteousness is yours. Your shame hung on Him on His cross and that shame is forever gone and forever replaced with His gift of righteousness to you because He loves you. That your mind and flesh periodically cling to the law and your attempts to work of yourself and not rest in His accomplished work—this is a shared flaw in all people. To one degree or another, we all suffer this inward fight. So, you are not alone. What you are also not alone in is the receiving of the results of His work regardless of how you feel about it and the battle that may rage in your heart and mind. My children do and say things with consequences, but my love for them does not end. How much more the Lover of my soul for me as I oft waver and waffle—yet beneath that my confidence and assurance are sure. I never say: "Jesus is not good enough!" NEVER! Though I fall, though I waver, though I slip, though I sin—I know before, during, and after that ALL of the condemnation and shame of ALL of the sin of my life has been put away from me on His cross and His finished work. What remains to me is NO CONDEMNATION, and no shame. What remains to me is rest. What remains to me is His righteousness and good name given to me as a gift. Mediate on these things, brother. You are not alone.
