GUARD YOUR HEART
God wants you to guard your heart because what goes in eventually comes out. Its like the computer jargon (GIGO) garbage in garbage out. Let God’s word dwell richly in your heart, meditate on it until you are fired up by it. When you speak based on revelation your manifestation is the result.
In order for you to change your world, you need to change your thoughts. Your thoughts run your life. Who you are really is made up of what you are thinking inside. If we pay close attention changing the thoughts we think we will spend less time and efforts trying to change the words we speak.
As long as we say things that we don’t really believe, no matter the frequency it will not produce power. That is why the scripture says in Romans 10:9a “If you believe in your heart and say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord then you will be saved.” Our salvation received is an end result of the words we speak and the words we believe in our heart. There is a heart and mouth connection for the miraculous to be experienced.
This is why a lot of Christians have given up on their faith. They have confessed because they were told to speak positively. But they did not take the time to attend to God’s Word and meditate on it. They just speak forth not because they believe but because they are just trying to see if it will work. That is just unbelief and doubt wearing masks. Trying to see if the “faith –thing “ works is unbelief dressed in sheep designer’s clothing.
Your circumstances will give way based on the weight of the confidence in your heart – not just the words that you actually speak. It is a combination of both to get it to work. What you belief and think need to align with what you say. Your confession should be the fruit of your meditation. True faith is a response to God’s accomplished work.
In Matthew 12:35 it says “the good man from his inner good treasures flings forth good things and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things.” (AMP).
If you give yourself to the word and think deeply on it, you will fill your heart with treasures, you will see this treasures manifest in your life. Things change in your life when they change in your heart.
The day you see yourself as a prosperous man that can’t be broke again because of the finished work of Jesus and begin to release forth that fruit through your words, prosperity will manifest and things will change. At this point, our confession is going to come out of the overflow of our heart- out of the overflow of what we really believe and what we really think. That is when things will change on the outside. Success is who you are. As a man thinks in his within, so is he.
Joel Osteen, Pastor of Lakewood Church contributed a foreword to a book titled Your Words Hold a Miracle and stated this:
“A powerful step toward living at your full potential is to discover the power
of your thoughts and words. As was true of my father’s “certain Christian,”
many people live far below their full potential because their thinking
patterns are defective. You cannot think negative thoughts and expect to live a
positive life. You can’t think thoughts of failure and expect to succeed. You
have to quit dwelling on the negative. Don’t magnify your problems. Magnify
your God. The bigger we make God, the smaller our problems become.
Quit dwelling on what’s wrong in your life, and start dwelling on what’s
right in your life. Learn to focus on your possibilities, on what you can
do, on your potential. Then go out each day expecting good things.”
Satan wants to get access into your life through your thoughts. Your mind is the battlefield. The scripture tells us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Work on your thinking because it produces your speaking. Guard it from any information that runs contrary to the promises of God.
Paul speaking to the church at Corinthians said
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God
to the pulling down of strong holds: casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every
thought to the obedience of Christ”. – II Corin. 10:4,5
The truth is that many are defeated in life because of wrong mindset and ways of thinking that has limited God’s work in their life. Paul described these destructive ways of thinking as strongholds. The devil’s strategy to stop believers from excelling in life is to influence their minds with thoughts, imaginations and concepts that stand against God’s truth.
Battling these strongholds is beyond praying, warring tongues or engaging in dramatic warfare prayers. We have to bring every thought and subject it to God’s word. Every idea and concept in your life must pass the litmus test of the word of God.
Gregory Dickow once said “God’s purpose, plan and will for your life doesn’t start with a great dream or great effort on your part. It simply starts with right thinking, mindsets that line up with God’s way of thinking.”
Lots of people live with thoughts of hopelessness, impossibilities, frustrations, fear of the
future, worries, security and many other negative emotions. Such ways of thinking keep one living a defeated life. But you change things by changing your thinking. Replace these thoughts with God’s thoughts. The promises of God in his words in the antidote to such poisonous thinking. you can win the battle of the mind when you use the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.
Your victory is in the word of God that you meditate upon. The devil will not be defeated because he has already been whipped and defeated two thousand years ago. You need to keep the devil where he supposed to be. The losers corner “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think of these things.” Phil. 4:8
Don’t even let people’s opinions and the popular trend to colour the dream that God has placed in your heart. Take every limiting thought captive. You don’t need anyone’s permission to fulfill your dream. Keep your mind and heart in God’s unchanging opinion of you. Remember He is more committed to seing you succeed, love life and see good days that you can ever be yourself.
